I was tagged by Karen the WaterLeaner to write a post on 10 things that happen to me. Thinking of where to start, it takes me quite a while to refresh and search my memory to accomplished this list okay, below are the random list of 10 things that happen to me, enjoy:

1. I don’t know why but since young, certain class mates always wanted to sit with me, even when I started work, it happen twice colleagues required to sit in the same cubicle with me or else they will not move to anywhere else when we need to rearrange the office space.

2. I’m so great that I am the only child in my family that had the chance to attend college.

3. It happen that I am also the only one who left the family and living in another state since I was 20.

4. Once when I was six-year-old, my sister who is five years older than me, said she is going to beat me if I keep disturbing her. I was standing there and think: if she were to beat me sooner or later, why don’t I just slap her first? then I went and slap her on her face. We still laugh about this and today we are the closest amongst all siblings.

5. I had a nickname when I was a kid, I had no idea if the nickname was bad or funny. One day one of my relatives came to visit us, she was talking to me when I was alone, and I told her proudly that my family members call me “piggy Joanne” beside my usual name, she was like: “Ohh!”

Then she went in to the living hall and chat with my parents and other elder siblings (I’m the youngest), she told them what I told her and I heard a big howl of laughter from them all, since then I never mention my nickname to anyone anymore.

6. I’m a person who treasure friendship a lot. I used to put in a lot of effort to maintain and please my friendship with this girl when I was 14-year-old, but she did not seems to care about the friendship that I gave her. I was so hurt by that and it left me into a down time for quite a long while.

7. I spent my childhood in a small countryside in the south part of my country, where there were less cars and more green 30 years back. There was once after we caught the small fishes from the river, we set the wood fire up just like what we seen on TV, we stuck the fishes and toasted them.

The outcome? Fishes were all over toasted that we hardly put it into our mouth, and got discipline well by ours parents to not play the fire again

8. There was a guy whom I knew from the guitar class that I attended, he was very nice to me and was asked me out few times, in one conversation I told him I wish to go for further study but with financial difficulty, he then offered to pay all my college fees and my living expenses until I complete my study! I was so afraid that it would cost me my life, such as being his wife to repay his kindness to me, I then ran away from him without leaving any contact

9. My grandfather passed away when I was 12-year-old. I was at the school at that time, all I knew was when I reached home, I saw my grandfather laying on the floor in the living room, cool, and breathless. But I did not cry, rather, I felt the unknown excitement. Only until the last day, the day we need to bury his corpse, only then I realize I’ll never have my grandfather back, only then I burst into tears, badly. It was the first time in my life I experience life and death.

10. And the recent happening of my sister-in-law passed away at the age of 40, reminded me again to love and keeping contact with your family members, or friends, when we’re still able, when there are still chance.

This is such a great experience to write out the 10 things that happen to me. Most of my memories, those sweetness, happiness, bitterness, flashing back like a movie, an excellent movie that full of lessons that making me who I am today.
