His Shirt
There was a man having supper with friends.
One says he feels troublesome that he needs to iron his shirt before he can put it on. The other one says well, you could buy one with good quality, but that will surely cost a lot.
The man then says, “Well, I do not need to iron my shirt at all. All my shirts are ready to wear without me ironing them regardless of any quality.”
Before anyone says anything, his girlfriend says calmly, “Well, you know, I am ironing your shirts for you every day and gathering them nicely into your wardrobe, that’s why you can have them conveniently anytime.”
His girlfriend hasn’t ironed any shirts for him since then.
Moral of the story:
Do your best to seek beauty in your surroundings and seek kindness in others. It is not whether you know how to appreciate someone or something, but not taking them for granted.

While I’ve never ironed anyone else’s shirts, I can think of a time or two where I’ve been in the situation where I was doing something out of the kindness of my heart and others tried to take advantage of it. It angered me and didn’t make me feel good at all, not to mention, in many cases it ruined the relationship between that person and I.
That was a good story in that it reminds us that we need to watch what we take for granted, and that we don’t take advantage of those that go out of their way to do something nice for us.
